Sports Catalog Management

The Sports Catalog allows you to map the structure of your Sportsbook (Sports > Tournaments > Teams/Markets) within the Engage platform. Crucially, this is where you monitor the XP and Token contribution percentages for each sport, giving you control over which sports drive player progression.

1. Sports Tab (Overview)

The main view lists all sports currently configured in the system.

  • Gamification Data: The table explicitly displays two key metrics for every sport:

    • XP Points Contribution: The percentage of a bet on this sport that counts towards leveling up (Experience Points).

    • Tokens Contribution: The percentage of a bet that generates spendable currency (Tokens).

    • Note: Default contribution is often set to 50% or 100% depending on your global configuration.

  • Navigation: Use the tabs at the top to switch between managing Sports, Teams, and Tournaments.

2. Managing Sports

To add a new top-level sport category (e.g., Football, Tennis, eSports).

Creating a Sport

  1. Ensure you are on the Sports tab.

  2. Click the blue Create New button.

  3. Name: Enter the name of the sport.

  4. Click Confirm.

Importing Sports (CSV)

For bulk creation, you can upload a list of sports.

  1. Click the Import CSV button.

  2. File Preparation: Create a CSV file containing a column for Name.

  3. Configuration:

    • Headers: Select Yes if your file includes a header row (e.g., "Sport Name").

    • Delimiter: Choose the separator used in your file (Comma , or Semicolon ;).

  4. Upload: Drag and drop your file or click Browse Files.

  5. Click Import.

3. Managing Tournaments

Tournaments organize matches within a sport (e.g., "Premier League" or "NBA").

  1. Navigate to the Tournaments tab (or select Tournament from the Create menu).

  2. Click Create New.

  3. Name: Enter the name of the tournament.

  4. Click Confirm.

4. Managing Teams

Teams must be linked to a specific Sport and Tournament to ensure proper data mapping from your sportsbook feed.

  1. Navigate to the Teams tab.

  2. Click Create New.

  3. Name: Enter the team name (e.g., "Manchester United").

  4. Sport: Select the parent sport from the dropdown menu (e.g., Football).

  5. Tournament: Select the specific tournament this team belongs to (e.g., Premier League).

  6. Click Confirm.

5. Managing Markets

Markets define the specific betting opportunities (e.g., "Match Winner", "Total Goals").

  1. Click Create New (or select Market from the creation flow).

  2. Name: Enter the market name.

  3. Click Confirm.

Summary of Hierarchy

When setting up your catalog manually, always follow this order to ensure dependencies are met:

  1. Create Sport (Top Level)

  2. Create Tournament (Group Level)

  3. Create Team (Entity Level - requires Sport & Tournament)
