Create a Template

In order to start working on your new template, the operator should click on the Create SMS Template button, located on the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

This will redirect the operator to a step-by-step screen with the necessary information to create and customize the SMS template. Following are the steps to create a new template.

Step 1: Template Details Section

The following information may be included in the Details section:

  • Name: Name of the template being created.

  • Tags (Optional): This field allows the operator to select tags from previously made tags to differentiate the template.

  • Description: This comment box allows the user to include relevant information about the template.

Once the information is included, click on the Next button to move to the next section.

Step 2: Message Language

Configure the SMS content information using the following steps:

  1. Click on the plus sign (+) to display available languages.

  2. Click on desired Language: EN was selected in this example.

  3. Create a Title: This Sender ID will be displayed in the SMS instead of a mobile number (this depends on country and mobile operator).

  4. Add a Message: This allows the operator to add the SMS message.

    1. Placeholders. Examples of available placeholders are:

      1. Username

Short URL

Creating a Short URL

To create the Short URL, click on the link icon and insert the full length URL. Then, click on the Get Short URL button. The system will create a shortened version of the inserted URL (For example: https://bit.ly/a1s2d3f4).

A preview example of the short link will appear on the right side of the screen. This preview gives the operator an idea on how the Short URL will be seen by their end user, but it is not the real short URL that will be sent out.

Once the information is included, click on the Next button to move to the next section.

Step 3: Send Test (Optional)

This feature allows the operator to send a test SMS to verify how the template will look to the end user. Include a phone number and click on the Send Test button.

Once the information is included, click on the Save button to save the data.

On the right side of the screen, the SMS Summary view will be shown, along with the details of the Template and a view of the mobile version.

SMS Template Archive

This feature will allow the operator to recover previously-deleted templates.

The table will display the same columns as its counterpart in the Template main menu (Name, Description, Language, Created Date, Created by, Tags, Options). The operator may take the following action:

Recover: Reinstate the selected segment.
